Galibi is at the mouth of the Marowijne River and can easily be reached by car, driving to the border town Albina and then sailing by canoe to the beach Galibi. Depending on the horsepower of the boat and of the tide, the boattrip will take 1 to 2 hours. Galibi is formed by two Indian villages, called Christian and Langamankondre.
In Galibi there is a very well sit on the beach. Sleeping is possible in pina huts, or in a hammock or in the some more luxurious residential huts. In the months of February up to August there is the opportunity to see giant turtles. These protected animals lay their eggs on the sandy beaches of Baboensanti and Eilanti, located at 1 hour sail from Galibi.
