Bigi Pan is in the 'Bigi Pan Conservancy Area" east of New Nickerie.
Bigi Pan is the largest swamp area of Suriname. This area is not only interested for bird watchers, but  also for non bird watchers, because  the changing landscapes are worth a visit.

Bigi Pan is a typical "wetland" with creeks, mangroves, wet and dry wetlands. Further more, Bigi Pan has a large bird variation. There are over 120 species, mainly water and migratory birds including the red ibis, osprey and terns.
